If you're looking for an amazing surf trip where you'll improve your surfing skills in paradise... this is it! I visited for the first time back in 1996 and was blown away by the sheer beauty of the tropical islands. Once you arrive to Bocas, this all-inclusive trip takes care of all the logistics from three meals a day, airport transfers, boat transfers, and AC accommodations steps from the water.

This trip will be geared towards beginners and novice surfers. With the perfect warm soft waves just minutes from our home, you'll be able to fine-tune your pop-up and surfing skills. The more experienced surfers are more than welcome to join and will be directed to the waves of their liking, which are also just steps or a short boat ride away.

With all Epic trips, I do my best to deliver safety, respect, and make your surf escape as comfortable as possible. I handle all the logistics so you can have an amazing time and return home revitalized.

Day 7
Take the early flight back to Panama City (smaller airport), then transport to the main airport in Panama City to fly home.

The Accommodations

Believe it or not, noise from the nightclubs is a major issue in the islands. After visiting years back, a friend of mine found the perfect place for this trip. The house is away from the nightly party noise and far enough away from the public beach where the locals like to enjoy life with music and brews. 

Accommodations include 3 private bedrooms with two beds in each. Two of the three bedrooms have two private bathrooms steps down the hallway. There is a kitchen and a living room just across the open-air hallway.

You have a lawn for sunbathing or rinsing off after a surf session. The house is situated on the main walking path on Isla Carenero, right on the beach but tucked into the jungle, making it a tranquil setting.

The house is updated with air conditioning in each room, new beds and mattresses in every room, and all of the necessary beach equipment you could need on vacation (snorkels, goggles, SUP, kayaks, and surfboards). If you're particular about masks and snorkels like I am, you are welcome to bring your own.

On the upper level, I, along with the house host and his two sweet dogs, are always available to help keep you comfortable during your stay.

The Food
Like all Epic surf trips, we eat well on this trip. On the first day, we'll make a grocery run to stock up our kitchen with snacks and other items to help carry us between meals. You may be so full you won't need the snack. We will be going out for most of our meals and will have breakfast prepared for us every day. Bocas has an amazing selection of cuisine from tasty Indian food to local grinds to perfect Pizza.

Some of our favorite places to eat on Carenero Island are:
Bibi's On The Beach - Steps from your door, and they have an amazing coconut and curry fish dish
Coquitos - Has a chill beach bar vibe with tasty fish tacos and the best pizza around
Leaf Eaters - Vegatarian restaurant on the water that serves up fresh delicious entrees
Carnitas - The best Mexican food on the island

Plus, we'll have one dinner prepared by Sunanda, the owner of the Indian Restaurant that unfortunately burnt down. Maybe the new location will be done by the time we arrive :)

We will also boat taxi over to the main island of Bocas Town and try the healthy meals of Cafe del Mar and BDT. You will eat well on this trip amigos y amigas. 

Getting There
You will fly into Panama City, Panama (PTY airport code). You may need to stay the night near the smaller airport if you can't make the connecting flight to Bocas. If this is the case, I suggest you leave a day early, stay the night in Panama City and take the earliest flight to Bocas the following day. I will help with transportation in Panama City and suggest hotels to your liking. My driver in Panama City will be handling the transportation between airports/hotels. You have the option to visit some cool tourist destinations while in Panama City if you layover before or after Bocas. The Panama Canal, Casco Viejo (old town), and other options are available with my local driver.

Arriving: You're going to fly into Tocumen International Airport. The airport code is PTY. Then, you'll want to fly on Air Panama from the commuter airport, Albrook "Marcos A. Gelabert" International Airport (PAC) to Bocas del Toro Airport (BOC). You can book your Air Panama flights here:
