EPIC SURF CAMP

Can not say enough great things about Manny Vargas's Epic Surf Camp just south of Rosarito in Northern Baja with 4 other women (only 5 women total!) The house we stayed in was huge, right on the bluff above a perfect right-hand break (way less crowded than Los Gaviotas - we had it to ourselves most sessions), with a gentle and forgiving wave perfect for beginners and intermediate longboarders. 2 2 hr seshes per day and a different delicious local eatery for each lunch and dinner. When we weren't surfing or eating, we spent hours analyzing the video, still, drone and gopro footage that both Manny and his professional photographer shot the whole time we surfed. Manny is an amazing coach and spent the time he was not running his drone in the water with us. He has a wealth of information, both about surfing and local Baja life and culture and he loves sharing his knowledge. As I wrote above, I do not have enough superlatives for Manny and his camp - he's amazing and inspiring!

Manny was a great host, guide, and teacher for my 5 days at Epic Surf Camp. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a guided experience in Baja. He knew everything about the local breaks, conditions, food options, and was a great host!

I feel so lucky to have found Manny and participated in his surf camp. No matter what level, you will leave this trip a better surfer! You get the opportunity to focus on surfing because all the details of location, food, etc. are taken care of. The real value in this trip for me though was getting the overall experience of what it feels like to go on a surf trip with a group of friends. If you dream of a week that simply involves surfing an uncrowded break, eating fresh, delicious food, and relaxing, look no further. Manny is also connected to the local community which makes the trips to town fun and comfortable because you feel like the guest of a well-liked local. Manny looks out for everyone while in the water and gives lots of personal feedback. Bonus was his awesome photographer who traveled with us and offered a lot of feedback and support as well. Highly recommend!
